Blake Price

Blake Price serves as Department Head and Assistant Professor in the Department of Sports and Exercise Sciences within West Texas A&M University's College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Joining in 2013, he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses including Foundations of Sports and Exercise Sciences, Sport Officiating, and Legal Aspects of Sport while actively serving on university committees such as the Intercollegiate Athletic Council and Athletics Hall of Champions Committee as faculty senator.

His educational background includes:

• B.S. in Sports and Exercise Sciences from West Texas A&M University
• M.S. in Sports and Exercise Sciences with Sport Management emphasis from West Texas A&M University
• Ph.D. in Sport Management with Athletic Administration emphasis from Troy University

Dr. Price's research centers on athletic policy frameworks, facility management operations, legal considerations in sports administration, and sport tourism's socioeconomic impacts through state-level cooperatives. His industry collaborations produce whitepapers analyzing sports tourism associations, compensation structures, and resident sentiment metrics, recently exemplified by a joint study with Dr. Michelle Bartlett on a local school district's athletic program.

He actively mentors students as faculty advisor for the WT Trap & Skeet Club and Rogers LEAD WT program, while maintaining professional affiliations with the North American Society for Sport Management and Texas High School Coaches Association.
