Ben Shapiro

Ben Shapiro is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, with courtesy appointments in the School of Education, the Department of Information Science, and the Technology, Cybersecurity and Policy Program. He also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science and Engineering and the Learning Sciences & Human Development department at the University of Washington.

His research focuses on enabling youth to learn computer science through collaborative, creative expression and networked technologies for community problem-solving. He leads the Laboratory for Playful Computation.

Shapiro received his PhD in Learning Sciences from Northwestern University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Madison.
