Beda Romano

Beda Romano is a Visiting Professor at the Interdepartmental European Advanced Studies (IDEAs) program of the College of Europe in Bruges. He is a seasoned journalist and foreign correspondent for the Italian newspaper Il Sole-24 Ore, based in Brussels. His academic roles include lecturing on Franco-German relations at Sciences Po Paris, communication issues at the European Diplomatic Academy in Bruges, and European Affairs at Bocconi University and Bicocca University in Milan.

Romano holds degrees in law from Université Libre de Bruxelles and Università degli Studi di Milano, and studied history and political science at the University of Chicago and Sciences Po Paris. His professional career includes roles as a reporter and bureau chief for Knight-Ridder Financial News in Milan and Paris, and as a correspondent in Germany before his Brussels assignment.

He is the author of essays, cultural guides, and short stories, and contributes to academic journals and research institutions across the US, Germany, France, and Italy. His expertise spans European integration, diplomatic communication, and transnational political dynamics.
