Barbara Stock

Barbara Stock is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at Gallaudet University, part of the Arts and Humanities School. She specializes in Ethics, Applied Ethics, and the intersection of philosophy with popular culture. Current courses include PHI-190 Animal Rights, PHI-290 Ethics and Health Care, and PHI-313 History of Late Modern and Contemporary Philosophy. Her research explores ethics in media (e.g., Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Dollhouse), moral enhancement debates, and interdisciplinary STEM-philosophy collaborations.

She has received grants including the Council of Independent Colleges' Implementation Grant and Gallaudet's Faculty Development Grant.
