Barb Ciotta

Barb Ciotta is a Clinical Instructor and Clinical Education Manager at the McAuley School of Nursing, University of Detroit Mercy. She teaches fundamental nursing skills and health assessment to prelicensure students across traditional and accelerated programs. With over 40 years of nursing experience and 20+ years in education, she joined Detroit Mercy as an adjunct in 2001 and transitioned to full-time faculty in 2021.

Her educational focus includes clinical skill development and freshman mentoring. She actively contributes to curriculum development, simulation training, and academic committees. Her practice background emphasizes practical application of nursing theory in clinical settings.
