Badih ASSAF

Badih ASSAF is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics & Astronomy of the University of Notre Dame (Indiana, US). His research focuses on quantum materials and topological insulators, particularly the synthesis and characterization of low-dimensional quantum systems.

• Education: Ph.D. in Physics (Northeastern University, 2014), MS in Physics (Northeastern University, 2011), BS in Physics (American University of Beirut, 2009)

Research Interests include:

• Quantum material heterostructures via Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE)
• Superconductivity with inversion symmetry breaking
• Unconventional Antiferromagnets
• Topological insulator quantum dots

His work leverages advanced facilities like an 18T magnet system and THz-nearIR spectroscopy. Current projects funded by DOE, NSF, and IUCRC (CQT) explore topological AFMs, transition metal dichalcogenides, and quantum engineering applications.
