Yang's research explores spin, magnetic, topological, and quantum phenomena in complex materials including oxides, topological insulators, and intermetallic heterostructures. His group specializes in ultrahigh vacuum off-axis sputtering and molecular-beam epitaxy (MBE) for epitaxial film growth, enabling studies of antiferromagnetic spintronics, magnetic skyrmions, electrical control of magnetism, terahertz dynamics, and quantum information materials. Current projects emphasize materials development for next-generation technologies.
