Ashok Philip

Ashok Philip, Ph.D., is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Associate Dean for Student Services at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Pharmacy. He holds a B.Pharm from JNT University (1999), M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Andhra University (2001), and a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Mississippi (2006).

His research focuses on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), student wellness initiatives, and professional development strategies. Notable contributions include studies on migraine pharmacotherapy, gluten-related neurodegeneration mechanisms, and innovative healthcare simulation methodologies.

Dr. Philip has authored/co-authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and presented at AACP Annual Meetings on topics such as interdisciplinary escape room simulations, pharmacy student burnout interventions, and APPE readiness assessments. He received the 2022 Rho Chi Teacher of the Year award from UAMS College of Pharmacy.

His professional memberships include the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (since 2008). His work integrates clinical pharmacology expertise with educational innovation to improve student outcomes and healthcare training methodologies.
