Dr. Antonia Mead is a Tenured Full Professor of Health Education and Department Chair of the Health & Human Performance Department at Johnson C. Smith University, within the College of Business and Professional Studies. She holds a PhD in Health Education & Health Promotion from the University of Alabama, and both her MS in Human Movement Science and BS in Biology from the University of Memphis.
Research & Expertise: Her work focuses on preconception health, health disparities (including HIV, diabetes, hypertension, and cancer prevention), and leveraging technology in classroom settings. She specializes in workforce development grants to address equity gaps and collaborates with faith-based organizations and college health initiatives.
