Anthony Edgington

Anthony Edgington is an Associate Professor and Director of Composition in the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Toledo's College of Arts and Letters. He earned his Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Louisville in 2004. His teaching focuses on freshman composition, composition pedagogy, writing theory, and research skills, with recurring themes of literacy, popular culture, and teaching methodologies.

Edgington's research centers on writing assessment, literacy studies, peer response methodologies, and working-class studies. He investigates the intersections of pedagogical practices, program administration, and writing assessment frameworks. His work consistently explores the dynamics of teacher response, writing program development, and inclusive assessment practices.

Academic Leadership: As Director of Composition, Edgington oversees curriculum development, program assessment, and writing initiatives including the Showcase for Student Writing.
