Annie Loui is a Professor of Acting and Co-Head of Acting at the University of California, Irvine's Department of Drama within the Claire Trevor School of the Arts. She leads the Movement Program for the MFA Actor Training, emphasizing physicality, contact improvisation, and period dance techniques. Her academic career includes roles at Brandeis University and Harvard's Institute for Advanced Theater Training.
Her artistic work spans directing, choreography, and intermedia performance. Notable projects include CounterBalance Theater productions like Jane Eyre and War to End War, as well as installations like Falling Girl (with Scott Snibbe) and Reading Frankenstein. She has received awards such as the NEA New Forms Grant and Belgium Artist’s Abroad Award.
