Anne-Laure Fayard is a Chaired Professor in Social Innovation at the NOVA School of Business and Economics (NOVA SBE) and Visiting Research Faculty at New York University. She previously held roles at INSEAD (Singapore/France), Ecole des Mines (Paris), Imperial College London, and the London School of Economics. Her research focuses on collaboration, technology, innovation, and human-centered design, with a particular interest in the future of work, social innovation, and the impact of AI and remote/hybrid work environments.
Education includes a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science from Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (1998), M.Phil. in Cognitive Science from Ecole Polytechnique (1993), and degrees in Philosophy and History of Science from the University of Paris I-Sorbonne (BA 1991, M.Phil. 1992).
Her research explores cross-sector partnerships, open innovation, and the unintended consequences of new technologies on work. She coordinates the DESIS Lab @ NOVA SBE, dedicated to social innovation, and led the Design Lab @ NYU Maker Space. Her work has been featured in Administrative Science Quarterly, Harvard Business Review, and major media outlets like The New York Times and Le Monde.
Publications highlight themes such as hybrid work environments, AI integration, and participatory design in healthcare. She leads initiatives like the “Cocreating First Steps” toolkit for adolescent health services and explores frameworks for nurturing innovation in organizations.
