Anne-Laure Fayard is a Visiting Professor of Innovation, Design, and Organizational Studies at NYU Tandon School of Engineering’s Department of Technology Management and Innovation. She concurrently holds the ERA Chaired Professorship in Social Innovation at Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon. Her roles include coordinating the DESIS Lab at Nova SBE and collaborating with NYU’s Design Lab. Previously, she was a faculty member at INSEAD Business School in Singapore and Fontainebleau, and a visiting scholar at institutions like Ecole des Mines and Imperial College London.
She holds a PhD in Cognitive Science from Ecole des Hautes-Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris, and degrees in Philosophy and Cognitive Science from Paris-Sorbonne and Ecole Polytechnique. Her research focuses on collaboration, design, culture, and space, with publications in leading journals like Organization Science and Harvard Business Review. She authored The Power of Writing in Organizations (2012) and co-edited The Routledge Companion to Anthropology and Business (2020).
Her work emphasizes workplace design, hybrid offices, and AI integration, as seen in articles like Designing the Hybrid Office (2021) and A Better Way to Onboard AI (2020). She advises student initiatives like the Design Tinkering Club and Open IDEO Chapter and has received awards including the Distinguished Teaching Award (2017) and Roland Calori Best Paper Award (2009).
Her projects include the Bindi Guide for NGOs and solar paint prototypes in Nepal. She leads initiatives like the Design Thinking Roundtable Podcast and contributes to exhibitions and media discussions on innovation and social impact.
