Anna Mersdorf

Anna Mersdorf is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Personality and Clinical Psychology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Károli Gáspár Reformed University in Hungary. She also serves as a Consulting Psychologist for hearing-impaired students at Semmelweis University's Faculty of Health Sciences. Her academic credentials include an MA in Counseling and School Psychology and qualifications as both a Psychology and Geography teacher from ELTE University (2005), along with specialized training in Autogenic Training and Psychodrama.

Her work with the Experiential Therapy Research Group explores innovative therapeutic approaches through adventure activities like rock climbing and caving.

Her publications reveal a strong focus on oncopsychology, particularly examining how breast cancer patients perceive meaning in life, cope with illness, and maintain psychological well-being. She has also pioneered research on the therapeutic benefits of natural environments and adventure-based interventions, documenting how activities like caving and rock climbing can facilitate psychological, relational, and spiritual growth.

Dr. Mersdorf is an active member of the Hungarian Psychological Society and has presented her research at numerous national conferences.
