About
Dr. Ann Casson serves as a Senior Research Fellow at the National Institute for Christian Education Research (NICER) at Canterbury Christ Church University, where she leads the "Ten Leading Schools: The spiritual influence of Christian-ethos secondary education" project in collaboration with the Warwick Religions and Education Research Unit (WRERU) at the University of Warwick.
Her research specializes in spiritual development within Christian-ethos secondary schools, employing qualitative methodologies to document institutional approaches to fostering student spirituality. This work generates case studies aimed at helping Christian secondary schools refine their spiritual development programs while contributing to international academic discourse on the distinctiveness and efficacy of faith-based education.
Prior to her research role, Dr. Casson taught Religious Education across diverse secondary school settings in North East England, including Church of England, Catholic, and community schools. She operates within NICER's framework while maintaining active partnership with WRERU at the University of Warwick for cross-institutional research initiatives.
