Dr. Anja Rekeszus is a Lecturer in German and Translation Studies at the University of Reading, serving as Year Abroad Coordinator for German. Her work bridges literary studies with environmental and gender-focused research. She specializes in Romanticism, fairy tales, and women’s writing, particularly analyzing how storytelling interfaces with ecological and anthropological themes.
Her research explores ecocritical perspectives on women’s Romanticism and human-animal relationships, alongside policy-related language skills research. She collaborates on projects like the Leveraging Wild Deer initiative (funded by the University’s Environmental Humanities Fund) and contributes to the British Academy application for ‘Towards Narratives of Nature Affinity.’
