Anja Rekeszus

Anja Rekeszus is a Lecturer at the University of Reading and the Inclusion, Participation and Engagement Fellow 2024-25 at the Institute of English Studies. Her research explores Romanticism, fairy tales, and their connections to environmental relationships, with a focus on German women writers of the nineteenth century and urban biodiversity narratives.

• Earned a PhD from King's College London (2023) on transcultural fairy tales and German women's literature.
• Current project 'Retelling the urban fox' uses participatory creative methods to analyze fairy tales' impact on perceptions of urban wildlife.
• Contributed to the Publications of the English Goethe Society and The Conversation.
• Active in environmental advocacy with Climate Majority Project and Friends of the Earth.
