About
Dr. Andreas Rost is a Research Fellow at the School of Physics and Astronomy, University of St Andrews, where he leads experimental research on quantum materials through the Designer Quantum Materials Center.
His research focuses on unconventional phases in strongly correlated electron systems, with emphasis on:
- Atomic-layer engineered heterostructures
- Thermodynamic properties of quantum matter
- Mesoscopic transport phenomena
- Topological electronic states
- Entropy and magnetoconductivity measurements
- Designer quantum material synthesis
Dr. Rost supervises key PhD projects including Ultra-high conductivity oxide metals, Synthesis of correlated micro-crystals, Thermodynamics of designer materials, and Mesoscopic topological physics, collaborating with Prof. Andrew Mackenzie and Prof. Phil King.
His experimental work develops bespoke techniques for fundamental quantum property characterization.
