Andreas Herrmann is a Lecturer at the Institute of New Music, Composition and Theory within the Lucerne School of Music (HSLU). He holds a Jazz Piano degree from the Swiss Jazz School in Bern (1986–1990) and a classical composition degree from the Freiburg College of Music (1995–2002). His teaching focuses on Jazz Theory, Jazz Piano as a subsidiary subject, and Jazz Ensemble courses.
His research and creative work emphasize jazz performance, composition, and cross-genre collaboration. Notable achievements include a 2010 nomination for the New German Jazz Prize with his piano trio and the 2015 iTunes bestseller album The Child in Me. His quartet's Sincerity and trio's My Secret Love further highlight his contributions to modern jazz.
Herrmann has performed globally with renowned artists like Benny Golson, Dave Liebman, and Jimmy Woode. His scholarly work extends into business and marketing, including studies on consumer decision-making in automotive purchases and evolving customer behavior in retail contexts.
