Ricardo Regidor is a Lecturer at the Lucerne School of Music, part of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where he teaches Jazz Piano as a Subsidiary Subject and Jazz Ensemble Course. Born in Valencia, Spain, he has been based in Switzerland since 1978 and holds a diploma from the Jazz School Lucerne. His career spans over three decades as a freelance pianist, composer, and musical director in jazz, Latin jazz, salsa, flamenco jazz, tango, pop, gospel, and soul genres.
Regidor has collaborated with renowned artists such as Kevin Mahogany, Lou Reed, Joseph Bowie, and Eddie Floyd, and led his own trio, Ricardo Regidor-Trio. He was a long-time pianist for the chanson duo 'Hösli und Ricardo,' producing multiple CDs and featured in the film 'blau' (2005). He has conducted workshops and lectures globally, including at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, Humboldt University of Berlin, and UNSAM (Argentina), focusing on Latin American music, flamenco, and Cuban musical traditions.
Regidor has performed at major festivals like Montreux Jazz Festival and New Orleans Festival, and contributes to theater and jingle compositions. He currently organizes the Latin Music Talks series, featuring international experts in Latin music history and techniques.
