Prof. Dr. Andrea Kretschmann is Professor of Cultural Sociology and Dean at the School of Cultural Studies, Leuphana University of Lüneburg. She is also an associate researcher at the Centre Marc Bloch in Berlin and has held visiting positions at EHESS Paris, Johns Hopkins University, and other prestigious institutions.
Research Focus: Her work spans cultural sociology, political sociology, socio-legal studies, and criminology. She investigates how legal orders are culturally constructed and contested, with a particular interest in protest policing, state power, and the symbolic dimensions of law.
