Anderson Ribeiro de Figueiredo

Anderson Ribeiro de Figueiredo is an Adjunct Professor and Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources, University of Wyoming. He holds a PhD in Geography from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. His expertise spans Participatory Scenario Planning, Water Availability, and Science Communication, with a focus on integrating local knowledge with scientific models to address socio-environmental challenges in mountainous regions.

His research bridges transdisciplinary efforts in the Wyoming Anticipating the Climate-Water Transitions (WyACT) initiative, where he designs participatory workshops and applies scenario planning to study cascading effects of water scarcity on rural communities. His work in the Peruvian Andes previously explored traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) and glacial dynamics, now extended to the Rocky Mountain West.
