Amy Rahn is an Assistant Professor of Art History and Director of the Charles Danforth Gallery at the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA). Her research focuses on American modern and contemporary art, particularly postwar painting and women artists’ networks. She holds a PhD from Stony Brook University (2019) and has authored scholarly work on Joan Mitchell, repositioning the artist’s Parisian period as a transnational pivot in her career. Rahn teaches courses including History of Art and Architecture I & II, and Modern Art II.
As Gallery Director, she curates exhibitions showcasing contemporary artists and student works. Her current research explores the historical impact of women artists’ collaborative networks.
