Amy Allen

Amy Allen serves as Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Distinguished Professor of Philosophy and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Penn State. Her research spans 20th-century continental philosophy, Frankfurt School critical theory, feminist thought, and political philosophy.

She holds a PhD from Northwestern University and directs the Rock Ethics Institute Initiative in Religion and Ethics. Current projects include essays on Marxism, colonialism, and progress. Recent publications include edited volumes on Wendy Brown and Enrique Dussel, and Critique on the Couch: Why Critical Theory Needs Psychoanalysis.
