Amos Kalua

Dr. Amos Kalua is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architectural Studies at Southern Illinois University Carbondale's College of Art, Architecture, and Design. As a Chartered Architect (RIBA), Chartered Engineer (CEng), and member of CIBSE and ASHRAE, he specializes in integrating building physics, environmental sustainability, and human sensory experiences into architectural design.

• PhD in Architecture (2021) and MS in Architecture (2018) from Virginia Tech
• MEng in Architecture (2015) from Harbin Institute of Technology, China
• BS in Architecture (2008) from University of Malawi

His research focuses on minimizing environmental impacts while enhancing human health and comfort through multi-sensory architectural design. Key areas include green building practices, thermal comfort, indoor air quality, and CFD modeling applications.
