Alexander Neubauer

Univ.-Prof. Mag. Alexander Neubauer is a Professor of Clarinet at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna, leading his own class since 2013. He is a principal clarinet and bass clarinetist with the Wiener Symphoniker since 1999 and deputy solo clarinetist since 2011. His career includes solo performances with renowned orchestras such as the Wiener Philharmoniker and Berliner Philharmoniker, specializing in works by Mozart, Copland, and others. He is a founding member of the Alban Berg Ensemble Wien and performs with ensembles like Faltenradio. Neubauer studied clarinet at the Graz Conservatory and the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw), later serving as a lecturer under Peter Schmidl (2009–2013). His expertise spans orchestral performance, chamber music, and wind instrument pedagogy.
