Alejandro Manelli is the Chair of the Department of Economics and the JPMorgan Chase Professor in Economics at Arizona State University (ASU). He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley (1988), an M.A. from the same institution (1985), and a Licenciatura from the Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires (1981). His research focuses on economic theory, including general equilibrium, game theory, and institutional design for trading processes like auctions and procurement.
He has held academic positions at the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University), the Tippie College of Business (University of Iowa), and served as a visiting professor at institutions such as the Institut d'Anàlisi Econòmica (Spain), Universidad de San Andrés (Argentina), and the Toulouse School of Economics (France).
