Alec Shepley

Alec Shepley is the Associate Dean for Research and Professor of Arts and Society at Wrexham University. His interdisciplinary work bridges contemporary art practice, critical theory, and social engagement, supported by grants from institutions including the Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC), Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), British Council, and Arts Council of Wales.

• Co-I on EPSRC-funded Network+ project Ecological Citizens
• Focus on creative methods to explore transitional spaces, impermanence, and utopian potential in art

His artwork has been exhibited globally, with pieces in public and private collections across North America, Europe, and Asia. He also serves as an External Examiner at multiple universities and holds leadership roles in professional organizations.
