Prof. Ajay Puri serves as Chief of Orthopaedic Oncology and Professor & Head of Surgical Oncology at Tata Memorial Centre. He holds leadership positions including President of the Indian Musculoskeletal Oncology Society, President Elect of the Asia Pacific Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, and past Chairman of the Indian Orthopaedic Association (Oncology).
His research integrates clinical, biomedical, and basic science approaches to musculoskeletal tumors. Key contributions include developing low-cost indigenous megaprostheses widely adopted across Asia and Africa, pioneering biological reconstruction techniques after oncologic resection, and leading the International Sarcoma Kindred Study (ISKS) to investigate sarcoma genetics.
