Doç.Dr. Şirin YILMAZ is an Associate Professor in the Department of Painting at Sakarya University's Faculty of Art Design and Architecture. She specializes in contemporary art, cultural hybridity, and art education. Her research explores intersections between art and politics, neoliberalism's impact on art labor, and exhibition curation.
Her work includes over 20+ exhibitions such as 'Psykhe/Nefes' (2020) and 'ARTANKARA' (2017), alongside international and national projects like the Venedik Bienali analysis (2013). She has supervised 4 master's theses and contributed to university curricula including courses like 'Çağdaş Sanata Eleştirel Bakış' and 'Uygulama Atölyesi' (multimedia).
Her publications span art criticism, cultural policy analysis, and educational frameworks in art. Notable works include analyses of Gülşen Karamustafa's cultural hybridity (2023) and Turkey's contemporary art movements (2023). She has also participated in workshops and juries, including the 'Sıfır Atık' art competition (2022).
