Łukasz Szulc

Łukasz Szulc is Senior Lecturer in Digital Media and Culture at the University of Manchester, where he co-directs the Centre for Digital Humanities. His research intersects digital media, gender/sexuality, and transnationalism, with focus on LGBTQ+ migrant communities. Education includes a PhD from University of Antwerp and postdoctoral positions at LSE and University of Antwerp.

His publications critically examine how digital platforms reshape queer migrant identities across borders, with recent work analyzing Brexit's impact on Polish LGBTQ+ communities. Awards include the ICA Outstanding Article Award (2023) for work on communication marginalization.

Teaching includes modules on 'Social Media, Platforms and Apps' and 'Queer Theory and the Media'. He co-supervises PhD candidate Julin Huang and serves on editorial boards for three international journals.
