Dr. Ömer Tay is an Assistant Professor at Bingöl University's Faculty of Theology, Department of Sufism. He holds a Doctorate from Atatürk University (2021) and Master's from Dicle University (2017), both in Theology. His research focuses on Sufi metaphysics, medieval Islamic mysticism, and the historical role of Sufi orders in socio-cultural contexts.

Research interests include Chishtiyya Order dynamics, Sufi conceptions of time/space, and mystical interpretations of Islamic theology. His publications analyze Sufi figures like Nasiruddin Mahmud and Mu'inuddin Chishti, exploring their philosophical contributions to Islamic mysticism.
He has authored five books on Sufism including Hindistan'da İslam'a Adanmış Bir Yaşam (2021) and Tasavvufî Açıdan Kelamî Meseleler (2024). Currently serves as editor for Bingöl Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi Dergisi.
