معرفی
Dr. Éric Thorin is a Full Professor in the Department of Surgery and Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Université de Montréal. His research focuses on cardiovascular aging, endothelial dysfunction, and atherosclerosis mechanisms, particularly studying cerebrovascular reactivity and pulse pressure effects on vascular tone.
- Université de Montréal (1996–present)
- Faculty of Medicine (Surgery & Pharmacology/Physiology)
Research trends in his 15 most recent publications reveal expertise in cellular senescence (7/15), atherosclerosis models (5/15), and angiopoietin-like protein mechanisms (4/15). He investigates how vascular aging interacts with cardiovascular risk factors to affect cognitive function and explores therapeutic targeting of senescent cells.
His scientific awards include:
- Prix Martial Bourassa (2005)
- Prix McDonald (1999)
- Prix Jonathan Ballon (1997)
- Jeune investigateur de l'année (1996)
Dr. Thorin supervises graduate students in cardiovascular research and collaborates with institutions across Canada, Europe, and Japan through grants from IRSC, CRSNG, and FRQS. His work integrates clinical and fundamental research approaches to vascular aging pathologies.
