معرفی
Çağrı OLGUN is an Assistant Professor at Kastamonu University's Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forest Industry Engineering, specializing in Forest Products Chemistry and Technology. He holds a PhD in Forest Industry Engineering from Kastamonu University (2020), an MSc from Süleyman Demirel University (2013), and dual BSc degrees in Forest Industry Engineering (Süleyman Demirel University) and Business Administration (Anadolu University). Since 2022, he has served as a full-time academic, currently as Deputy Department Head.
His research focuses on sustainable biomaterials, including lignin-based composites, recycling technologies for wood/plastic waste, and fiberboard innovation. Key areas include:
- Valorization of industrial byproducts (e.g., bark extracts, tire rubber)
- Development of eco-friendly adhesives and composite materials
- Optimization of fiberboard manufacturing processes
Recent publications emphasize circular economy solutions, with recurring themes in polymer science, waste recycling, and nanomaterial applications. His work frequently addresses VOC reduction, mechanical enhancement of composites, and sustainable alternatives to conventional wood products.
He leads 5+ research projects, including BAP-funded initiatives on lignin-based carbon fibers (2017–2019) and nut-shell utilization in fiberboard production (2020–2022). He collaborates extensively with international researchers from Slovakia, Poland, and Turkey.
