Prof. Jozef Krilek is a distinguished Professor and Vice-Rector at the Technical University of Zvolen, Slovakia. He serves as Head of the Department of Environmental and Forestry Technology and also leads the Department for Science and Research and the Technology Transfer Department. His office is located at KELT FT, Študentská 26, 96053 Zvolen (Office F217).
Professor Krilek's research spans multiple areas of sustainable materials and forestry technology:
- Wood-plastic and wood-rubber composite materials
- Particleboard manufacturing from recycled materials
- Waste tire and plastic recycling for construction materials
- Forestry machinery and equipment development
- Biomass processing and energy applications
- Precision measurement systems for wood processing tools
His extensive publication record demonstrates a strong focus on creating sustainable building materials from waste streams, particularly utilizing rubber and plastic waste in wood composite applications. Recent work also explores precision measurement devices for forestry equipment and sustainable energy systems integration in buildings.
Professor Krilek has been involved in multiple research grants including APVV-22-0034, VEGA 1/0027/24, and KEGA 007TU Z-4/2023, which support his work in sustainable materials development and forestry technology innovation. He is currently supervising several planned professional events for 2025 including the 'Mobile energy resources – Hydraulics - Environment - Ergonomics of mobile machines' event scheduled for September 2025.
As Vice-Rector, he plays a key leadership role in the university's research direction and technology transfer initiatives, bridging academic research with practical industrial applications in the forestry and wood technology sectors.
