Åsa Löfgren is an Associate Professor and Universitetslektor at the Department of Economics, University of Gothenburg, with affiliations to the School of Business, Economics and Law. She holds additional roles such as Visiting Professor at Luleå University of Technology (2023-2024) and RFF University Fellow at Resources for the Future (2022-2025). Her research focuses on climate economics, green industrial policy, and behavioral economics, with recent work integrating AI/NLP techniques for sustainability analysis.
Education: PhD in Economics (2003) and Associate Professor (Docent) in Economics (2011), both from the University of Gothenburg. She has also held visiting scholar positions at Resources for the Future in Washington, DC, across multiple years.
Research Interests: Löfgren’s work spans climate policy design, behavioral drivers of sustainability, and decarbonization strategies in sectors like basic materials, banking, and transportation.
