Åsa Gardelli is Professor in the Department of Health, Education and Technology at Luleå University of Technology, where she coordinates the Special Educational Needs Programme. Her research examines inclusive education approaches for neurodiverse learners.
Professor Gardelli investigates how philosophical dialogues and participatory methods can enhance educational inclusion for students with neurodevelopmental disorders. Her work explores communication strategies, health promotion in schools, and co-production research methodologies with people with disabilities. Recent publications focus on interventions in socio-economically disadvantaged settings and case studies of inclusive practices.
Research demonstrates consistent application of dialogic approaches across different learner populations, from students with autism to those with communication disorders. Studies combine educational theory with practical interventions in school settings.
