Álvaro Castells García

Álvaro Castells García is a Research Fellow at IMDEA Nanociencia since July 2024, working in Prof. Cristina Flors' lab under the MSCA-IDEAL postdoctoral program. Previously, he served as an Associate Researcher at Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital (2022-2024) and Guangzhou Regenerative Medicine and Health Guangdong Laboratory (2019-2022). His research focuses on applying advanced microscopy techniques to study chromatin architecture and mechanotransduction effects on cell function.

• PhD in Biomedicine, Pompeu Fabra University (2019)

Research interests include nanoscale imaging of chromatin dynamics, epigenetic regulation, and regenerative medicine. His work combines single-molecule localization microscopy with cellular biology to explore molecular mechanisms linking chromatin structure to gene expression.

Publications reflect expertise in super-resolution imaging of nucleosome interactions and histone modifications. Current projects investigate mechanotransduction pathways influencing chromatin organization using advanced fluorescence nanoscopy techniques.
