Giuseppe Durisi is a Full Professor at the Communication Systems Group within the Department of Electrical Engineering (E2) at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. His work bridges information theory with machine learning, focusing on latency-reliability-throughput trade-offs in digital communication, next-gen cellular systems, and theoretical foundations of neural networks. Education: Laurea (summa cum laude) and Doctorate from Politecnico di Torino, Italy (2001/2006). Career: Postdoc at ETH Zurich (2006-2010), Chalmers since 2010, co-director of ICT Area of Advance, director of AI Research Center, and current master program director. His research explores: Optimal coding schemes for millimeter-wave massive MIMO systems Mathematical frameworks for low-latency ultra-reliable communication Convergence of information theory and deep learning principles Recent scientific awards include: 2013 IEEE ComSoc Best Young Researcher Award (EMEA) 2012 ISIT Student Paper Award 2013 IEEE Sweden VT-COM-IT best student paper award Active in journal editorial roles since 2011, currently serving as Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Information Theory . The Communication Systems Group he leads maintains open PhD and postdoc positions, with a focus on theoretical machine learning and 6G connectivity research.
