Maria José Magalhães is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences, University of Porto, Portugal. She is a leading researcher in gender-based violence, femicide, and feminist education, with extensive involvement in national and international research projects. Her recent publications (2019–2023) reveal a strong trajectory in femicide research, decolonial feminism, indigenous women’s histories, and emancipatory pedagogy , with interdisciplinary engagement across law, education, sociology, and public policy.
