Professor Dan Jerker B. Svantesson serves as Professor and Co-Director of the Centre for Space, Cyberspace & Data Law at Bond University's Faculty of Law in Gold Coast, Australia. With over two decades of academic output including 289 research publications, he maintains active supervision of HDR students specializing in Internet law and data privacy law. His research specialization centers on international aspects of the IT society, with particular expertise in jurisdictional conflicts in digital spaces, cross-border data flows, and privacy regulation. Fingerprint analysis of his work reveals dominant engagement with Internet law (100%), privacy (78%), data protection (69%), jurisdiction (65%), and Private International Law (60%). His 2012-2016 Australian Research Council Future Fellowship project examined global legal risk exposure in cloud computing and geo-location technologies. Professor Svantesson directs the Centre for Space, Cyberspace & Data Law, which serves as Bond University's hub for digital governance research and policy engagement. The Centre facilitates collaborations with international bodies including the OECD and UNCTAD, particularly regarding Pacific Island cyberlaw development and global privacy frameworks.
