Dr. Brian Mitchell Peters is a part-time lecturer at Concordia University in the Department of English and Theatre, with research expertise in queer theory, comparative literature, and popular culture. Holding a PhD and MA from Université de Montréal, he specializes in gender studies, youth subcultures, and performance analysis. Education: BA in English Literature and Creative Writing (Concordia University), MA and PhD in English and Comparative Literature (Université de Montréal) His scholarly work investigates queer embodiment in Gothic narratives, focusing on texts like Buffy the Vampire Slayer , Interview with the Vampire , and Dracula . Current research explores queer vampire families as metaphorical frameworks for non-normative parenting. Recent publications include analyses of queer family dynamics in Buffy (2022), camp aesthetics in 1980s pop culture (2017), and gender politics in Call Me By Your Name (2019). He contributes to editorial boards for Queer Studies in Media and Popular Culture and Journal of American Culture .
