Mizuki Mazzotta is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Russian and East Asian Languages and Cultures at Emory University, where she also serves as Japanese Language Coordinator. Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from Georgia State University (2018) and M.A. degrees in Linguistics (McGill University) and Applied Linguistics (University of South Florida). Her research focuses on instructed second language acquisition, particularly the role of affect and sociocultural theory in L2 learning. She has extensive experience teaching Japanese language courses and mentoring students at Emory and previous institutions like Georgia State University.
