Dr. Tzu-Chieh Kurt Hong is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture within the School of Architecture and Design at the University of Kansas. He teaches design studios, algorithmic modeling, parametric design, and computer programming in design studies. He founded K9K Research & Design, focusing on innovative computational design methodologies. His research emphasizes shape grammars, visual computing, and generative modeling, particularly through the development of the Shape Machine—a computational tool integrating shape recognition and rewriting into CAD systems.
