Terēze Zīberte-Ijaba is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of String Instruments at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music (JVLMA). She specializes in violin performance and musicology, with a focus on Latvian orchestral history. Her roles include leading the Strings Department since 2012, conducting research, and participating in international projects like the Innovative Conservatoire (ICON). Educations: Master’s Degree in Performance (2003), JVLMA Doctor of Arts in Historic Musicology (2015), JVLMA Erasmus exchange at Cologne University of Music (2001/2002) Her research explores the evolution of symphonic orchestras in Riga during the 20th century, blending institutional history with cultural analysis. She actively contributes to chamber music and performs as a principal violinist with orchestras like the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra and Liepāja Symphony Orchestra.
