Yasemin Merzifonluoglu is an Associate Professor at Tilburg University's Tilburg School of Economics and Management, Department of Econometrics and Operations Research. She holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of Florida and specializes in supply chain optimization and operations research. Her research focuses on procurement portfolio management, supply chain resilience, reinforcement learning applications in logistics, and decision-making under uncertainty. Current projects investigate value of information in risk-averse decision contexts and optimization methods for container shipping networks. Professor Merzifonluoglu's recent publications demonstrate work on integrated supply chain planning problems, with particular attention to customer selection, procurement strategies, and disruption management. Her research combines analytical modeling with computational approaches. She co-supervises PhD candidate Tijn Fleuren and teaches courses including Supply Chain Analytics, Decision Making under Uncertainty, and Inventory and Production Management. Her work has been funded by projects such as the Marie Curie initiative 'Optchain: Optimal Mechanisms to Match Supply and Demand in Contemporary Supply Chains' (2012-2016).
