Bronislaw Szerszynski is Professor of Sociology at Lancaster University, examining intersections of environment, technology and society through interdisciplinary approaches. His research spans geoengineering governance, Anthropocene theory, and techno-spiritual dimensions of environmental change. Szerszynski analyzes geoengineering proposals through social science, philosophical, and policy lenses, including public engagement studies on solar radiation management. He co-developed bibliometric methods to map the emerging geoengineering research landscape, revealing patterns of scientific collaboration and patent activity. As a key contributor to Anthropocene debates, Szerszynski co-devised the Anthropocene Monument project exploring geological and human temporalities. His performance works use experimental media to engage audiences with planetary futures.
