Ana Moreira is a Full Professor in the Computer Science Department at the Faculty of Science and Technology, NOVA University of Lisbon, and a leading researcher at NOVA LINCS, where she heads the Software Engineering group and serves on the Steering Committee. She is actively involved in major international conferences such as ICSE, MODELS, RE, and REFSQ, holding roles including Program Chair, Track Chair, and General Chair. Her research focuses on systematic approaches to software engineering, with emphasis on requirements engineering, model-driven development, sustainability engineering, and software quality. Key areas include stakeholder requirements, human values, quality attributes, and traceability in software product lines. She has pioneered work in early-phase modeling through co-founding the pUML and Early Aspects movements. Her publications span topics such as non-functional requirements in model-driven development, software sustainability, and neurodivergent-inclusive requirements elicitation. These reflect a strong trend toward human-centered, sustainable, and traceable software systems, combining theoretical rigor with practical impact. Best Paper Award (multiple) 10-Year Most Influential Paper Award on Aspects (2013) SoSyM Best 10-Year Paper Award (awarded at MODELS 2020) Ana has supervised 7 PhD students, co-supervised 2 from Brazil, advised 9 postdoctoral researchers, and guided over 60 MSc students. She has coordinated multiple research projects and holds leadership roles in academic governance, including on the Council Board of IREB and editorial boards of top journals like IEEE TSE, Requirements Engineering Journal, and SoSyM. She frequently organizes workshops such as MoDRE and contributes to journal-first tracks. She leads the Software Engineering group at NOVA LINCS, a premier research lab in computer science, and continues to shape the future of model-driven and sustainable software engineering through active collaboration, mentorship, and innovation.
