Evgeny Dobrenko is a Full Professor at the Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies at Ca' Foscari University of Venice. His research focuses on Soviet and Stalinist cultural history, with a particular emphasis on Socialist Realism, multinational literature, and the aesthetics of political regimes. He has held editorial roles in over 20 international journals, including Slavic Literatures and Novoe Literaturnoe Obozrenie . His recent work explores the cultural dynamics of Stalinism, the Soviet literary canon, and the global reception of Eastern European literature.
