Baohua Jia is a Distinguished Professor and Australian Research Council Future Fellow at RMIT University's School of Science, leading the Australian Centre for Atomaterials and Nanomanufacturing (ACAN). Previously, she was a full Professor and Director of the Centre for Translational Atomaterials at Swinburne University of Technology. She holds a BSc and MSc from Nankai University and a PhD from Swinburne. Her research focuses on photonics, nanomaterials, and their applications in clean energy, environmental technology, and manufacturing. Key contributions include laser manipulation of 2D materials, nanoprinting, and graphene-based technologies. She has secured over AUD$70M in research grants and commercialized technologies like nanoprinting and graphene films. Notable awards include ARC Future Fellowship (2021), Vice-Chancellor's Research Excellence Award (2021), and multiple industry engagement recognitions. She serves on editorial boards of journals like APL Photonics and organizes major conferences in nanomaterials and photonics. Prof. Jia advises on electric vehicle policy and chairs international conferences. Her work bridges academia and industry, with patents and pilot facilities in solar cells, supercapacitors, and hydrogen generators.
